Bob Luder has been running for nearly 50 of his 61 years, most of them competitively. He was a three-time Kansas Class 2A high school state champion as a senior at Caldwell High School and went on to compete at Kansas University, where he was three times all-Big Eight Conference in the mile/1,500 meters on the track. Post-college, in 1986, he set the Kansas road 10K record, winning the Defeat Diabetes 10K in Hutchinson in 29 minutes, 50 seconds. The next year, he ran for the Kansas team that competed at the world Ekiden Relay in New York City. More recently, as a masters runner, Bob has won age-group titles at 1,500 and 800 meters on the track at both Kansas and Missouri senior games.
