Three Smoke Victories Over the Weekend

In a weekend jam-packed with area road races, the Smoke secured three separate race victories.

Aaron Hohn pulled double duty, winning both the Heart & Sole Classic 10k in Olathe on Saturday and the brutal Warrior Dash on Sunday. Rikki Hacker won the Global Orphan Project 5k.

Heart & Sole Classic

Hohn pulled away late winning the 10k with a time of 33:43.

Not far behind was the Smoke's Kevin Miller, placing 3rd and overall masters winner with a 34:04. This was the 2nd fastest 10k ever run by an M50 competitor in the state of Kansas. 

What about the fastest 10k? That was the 33:28 run by the Smoke's Keith Long in Wichita, less than a month ago.

Also placing in the top 5 on Saturday was Ken Moran in 5th with a 36:58.

Warrior Dash

Nearly 10,000 people were up for some extreme running over the weekend, as the Warrior Dash made its way back to Kansas City. 

Aaron Hohn proved to be the fastest warrior, completing the course in 20:31.45, which was a full minute ahead of his closest competitor.

Global Orphan Project 5k

Rikki's 16:23 landed him the victory during Saturday's charity 5k.

Rikki plans to compete in the 3rd and final leg of the Heartland 39.3 Series this weekend at the Running With The Cows Half Marathon.

Kansas City Corporate Challenge 5k

Finally, Randy Wasinger and Eric Graham represented the Smoke and competed with their respective co-workers during Saturday morning's Corporate Challenge 5k at Shawnee Mission Park.

Randy Wasinger came in 4th overall and won gold in his age division with a 16:31, setting a new KCCC M35 age group record in the process.

Eric Graham brought home a bronze in the M30 division, finishing 6th overall with a 17:02.
