Hohn Places 25th In Boston, Todd 2nd in Vancouver, Long Breaks Record

Aaron Hohn battled the scorching temperatures in Boston today and brought home an astounding 25th place finish in the 2012 Boston Marathon. Aaron's effort of 2:31:09 came on a day where B.A.A. organizers issued a Warm Weather Advisory to marathon participants.

Kory Cool also battled the heat today, placing 253rd with a time of 2:51:49. Masters runner John Borthwick (48) finished in 3:49:47

Vancouver Sun Run 10k

Melissa Todd made the trek all the way to British Columbia on Sunday for the Vancouver Sun Run, Canada's largest 10k and the 2nd largest timed 10k in the entire world, attracting nearly 50,000 participants.

Melissa torched the field, placing 2nd overall in the women's division with a near-PR of 34:38.9. A recap of the women's race on vancouversun.com, including an interview with Melissa, can be found here:

Rock the Parkway

Several Smoke athletes were on hand for the 3rd Annual Rock the Parkway Half Marathon on Saturday.

Rikki Hacker led the way for the Smoke on a warm, humid morning placing 4th overall with a time of 1:14:45.

Not far behind was Keith Long (54) whose 1:15:04 6th place effort shattered the 24 year-old Missouri state 50-54 half marathon record of 1:16:09.

Also placing well for the Smoke were Ken Moran (40) in 13th place at 1:17:24, David Franz in 15th place at 1:17:30, and Rod Pixler (48) 30th overall in 1:23:44.

On the Track

Smoke athletes competed in a handful of different meets over the weekend.

Mike Hernandez doubled up at the Saint Louis University Invitational with times of 3:59.29 and 1:58.32, respectively in the 1500m and 800m, earning him 3rd and 12th place. 

Aaron Yoder placed 9th in the 1500m at the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita with a time of 3:59.34.

Finally, Charles Janssen placed 15th in the 1500m in a strong wind at the PSU Gorilla Classic with a time of 4:11.86.
