I was originally a competitive soccer player growing up with scholarship offers to small schools. I chose to attend KU and continue playing soccer through a club in KC that traveled the US. I finished playing competitive soccer at 20 and continued recreationally into my 30’s. Injuries prevented me from continuing, but I always loved being fit, so I continued that through my love of running.
In 2023 I began training for and racing ultras, while still hitting the track for various races. I bonked hard in my first ultra, but with help from ultra specific coaches, I was able to hone in on the correct fueling / hydration / nutrition needs. By the end of 2023, I took 1st OA in an ultra putting up the race record (just short of the course record), and my love for ultras has taken over since.
Goals:
Continue building upon momentum in ultras and be a strong contender yearly in the ultra and trail world, while still hitting the track occasionally for fun.
